This is a scene from from Big Finish's Doctor Who audio drama Exotron. The Fifth Doctor (voiced by Peter Davison) discovers to his horror that the gigantic robots guarding a remote colony world he's landed on are not merely robotic organisms: they are in fact shells controlled by the dead bodies of fallen soldiers, guided by a telepathic link with the colony's leader, Major Taylor.
I wanted to do some Who fan art for a while now, especially about the classic stuff, because of the new show's current popularity. This piece is further significant as being my first experiment with my new Wacom Tablet; my first truly digital piece. This is me learning to control the beast. Because of this it's not really great (especially the smoke), but I do like the way the characters turned out; I think they show that Guy Davis has more or less replaced Mignola in my Artist Pantheon. I like the sketchiness of it, as opposed to the Belgian ligne-claire used before. That did sound impressive.
Anyway, comment and criticism is as always appreciated.
A note on Projekt Franka. Tomorrow I hope to obtain my driver's license (at last), which means I will be a free man for the first time since the start of my finals. Which means I can finally go out and find those papers you're after.

D'oh, must've missed this. Alas, I did not pass the exam because I cared for my own life too much (ie I was too polite and careful a driver), so I'll have to try again in august. I don't own a car yet, and probably won't for a while, exactly because of what you said. Holland, with it's vast multitude of narrow roads, is a traffic nightmare every morning. I'll have to travel back and forwards between Rotterdam, where my new college is, and home, because I haven't found a room there yet. Using a car to travel that distance would mean using it as some kind of couch to sit on during traffic jams, so it probably wouldn't be worth it's money this first year. Hopefully when I've acquired some accommodation (fingers crossed). Until then I'll have to dodge hazardous armpits in the train.
Franka is turning out to be a bit trickier than I expected. The shops nearest to me appear to be hideously understocked, so I'll have to divrt to Belgium to, rather ironically, obtain some Dutch comic books. Luckily I'll be in Antwerp two weeks from now, so it's no hassle, just takes some time. Sorry.

When I was there with my father in 1984, the traffic was so bad that _he_ complained about it.(too much driving in the comparatively soft, friendly roads of Canada) Usually we parked for the day and walked. (ever been to Groningen?) It would be better to room there; it would be a lot of wasted time driving back and forth.
I had a feeling this "Franka" thing was going to be more trouble than I thought. Well, good luck with it and tell me all about Antwerp when you get back.
